Easier than I expected
I thought this would be tricky, but it was actually really relaxing. Once I got the first few pieces in, I didn’t want to stop. My snowman turned out so cute.

My daughter sat down to “help me for a few minutes” and ended up taking over most of the snowman. She loved choosing the fabric pieces and poking them into place. It was nice having something festive to do together that didn’t involve a screen.

I ordered the Christmas tree because I wanted something I could actually display when I was finished. The texture surprised me — it has so much more depth than I expected from the pictures. I put mine on the console table by our tree and it fits right in with the rest of my Christmas decorations.

I was a little nervous when I opened it because I’m definitely not a “craft person.” After the first few pieces it made sense right away. There’s no sewing to figure out and I liked watching the snowman slowly fill in. I’m honestly pretty proud of how mine turned out.

We started this on a cold Saturday afternoon and my daughter stayed focused on it much longer than I expected. The process is simple enough that she could do a lot herself, but it still felt like something we were making together. We already picked another design for December.

This is one of those crafts that’s strangely satisfying. Everything was already cut and ready, so I didn’t have to drag out a bunch of supplies first. I worked on it while listening to a podcast and suddenly realized I’d been sitting there for almost two hours.
I’ve been trying to spend less time scrolling at night and this has been perfect. It’s repetitive in a relaxing way without being boring, and you can actually see the picture changing as you go. I just leave mine on the dining table and work on a little bit whenever I have time.
I originally bought this for myself and liked it enough that I ordered another as part of my sister’s Christmas gift. She loves handmade projects but doesn’t sew, so this is much more her speed. I like that it’s both an activity and something she can keep afterward.
I used to do a lot more needlework, but I don’t have the patience for tiny stitches anymore. This gives me that same feeling of making something piece by piece without having to thread a needle. The finished texture is beautiful and surprisingly substantial.
My favorite thing is that the finished project actually looks like Christmas décor. I put mine on a bookshelf with some greenery and lights and it looks really cute. I’ll definitely pack it away with our ornaments and bring it back out next Christmas.
